Can isolation be shorter than 14 days for people with COVID?

The Centre of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), USA, as part of its latest measure against COVID-19, is contemplating shortening the isolation period for infected people to 7-10 days, or shorter, with a negative test report, in a move, which officials believe will help more people take this disease seriously.
